Introduction
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a pioneer in the automobile industry, set up a Maruti Suzuki Training Academy (MSTA) in the year 2012. The objective of MSTA is to ensure holistic development of its employees, dealers, vendors and all its partners by focusing on behavioral, technical and functional skills. Indian Institute of Skill Development has been associated with MSTA since 2012 and has been working on various training and up-skilling projects.

- IISD Trainers in the Technical Training Finishing Schools (TTFS) have been engaged in imparting (technical) induction training to all levels of new entrants into MSIL. ⇒
- IISD is also engaged in delivering the CTS (Craftsmen Training Scheme) Project in which students are given classroom and OJT training over a period of 2 years on “Automotive Manufacturing” and then placed in Maruti or with their vendors. The students are also given a stipend during the training period. At the end of the training, assessment and certification are done by NCVT.
- - Another prestigious training programme that IISD is involved with is the DSC training wherein in Graduates/Diploma students are trained over a period of 6 months on “Automotive Sales Training” and then placed with Maruti Dealerships.
- - Other than these, there are various short term projects wherein IISD is involved in training the trainers as well as the students in the ITIs that have been adopted by MSIL.
